SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: #26 JAMES BOBB

January 13, 2017
12:31 AM EST

Forward and Assistant Captain James Bobb (Merrick, NY) has had a strong senior campaign thus far recording 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 15 games.  His strong play on both sides of the puck is what propels the Pioneers and his play will need to continue to rise for the Pioneers to keep their success.  "Bobb has been a solid player for us since he arrived.  Each year he has improved and this year he is turning into a true complete player who can be utilized in all situations including penalty kill and power play.  He leads by example by playing this type of game and through his work ethic and will to win.  He will need to be a key player for us as we finish up the semester and head into post season play", said Coach Ballance.

Bobb who is in his third year at WPU will be graduating with a Business Degree in the spring semester.  He noted that "as a senior with the playing career coming to an end it's all about just taking everything in and making the most of opportunities. We have a good group here and believe we can do something special this year."  Bobb has helped guide the team to a 12-1-3 start to the season.  However, he is looking for more success and to provide leadership.  "This season I'm looking to work hard and contribute each day. I am not a very vocal guy through speeches so I look to lead by example. After I graduate I look forward to giving back to the program, and watching it continue to progress. I also look forward to watching my friends and teammates finish off their careers", said Bobb.

The Pioneers are looking to finish their regular season the same fashion that the first semester has gone.  "We have a lot of difficult challenges in front of us.  We play mostly road games this upcoming half and need to prepare for a long post season", said Coach Ballance.  "At the end of the day the teams that are remembered are the ones that win championships. Looking back at my career here at William Paterson there's really nothing else that I could have asked for. From teammates past and present to the coaching staff it has been a great experience.  Along with all the time spent with the boys inside and outside the rink, I will always remember winning a Super East championship there's no better feeling then winning something with a group of guys that you consider brothers and I hope to help do that again, concluded Bobb".

The Pioneers return to action on January 20th as they travel to local opponent Wagner College.  The game will be played at The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ at 8:45 pm.  We wish both the Pioneers and Bobb much success this second half.
