
Donald Bennett
Position: Team Advisor/General Manager
Donald Bennett '01, MBA '22 serves as the team's advisor and general manager. He assists the coaching staff with recruiting, enrollment, academic support, team finances and social media. Bennett has served in many roles for the program, including former player and captain (1998-2000), coach (2001-2003) and general manager/team advisor (2005-present).
As a player, Bennett served as the team's assistant captain during his junior year and captain during his senior season. In 50 career games for the Pioneers, he tallied 20 goals and 28 assists. He helped the Pioneers to two MET conference playoff appearances in 1999 and 2000.
Behind the Pioneer bench, Bennett helped transition the Pioneer hockey program to the ACHA Division 2 level. In 2003, he lead the team to its first postseason appearance at the ACHA D2 level with a trip to the MACHA (now MACH) playoffs.
Bennett grew up in Toms River, New Jersey and played youth hockey for the Toms River Hockey Club (Mite thru Midget). He was a 4 year varsity letterman for Toms River High School South and ranks as one of the top scoring defensemen in school history. He served as captain for Toms River South for two years and led the team to the school's first ice hockey championship in history with a McInnis Cup victory in 1996.
Bennett holds a Level 3 USA Hockey coaching certification and coaches youth hockey with the New Jersey Colonials.
He serves as the University's Associate Budget Director and resides in Basking Ridge, New Jersey with his wife and two children.
